Internet cover investigation

today on the 16th we looked at different album covers from different styles of underground dance, specifically psytrance and jungle drum n bass. After briefly looking at some covers we noticed an instant convention which is that there is usualy just a picture of the artist in a moody or distorted pose, sometimes using different effects such as face warp or negative which gives the albums an initial "trippy" feel.

This appeals to hippy/raver expectations which is mainly "trippy" and "psychodelic", hence the genre psy-trance. Despite usual conventions we are opting to challenge usual expectations and use less distorted images so not to make the album cover to over the top and in-understandable.
