From my understanding, psytrance is a very contemporary type of music, which is very much favoured by the older teen and young adult audience (17-24). From doing our research, we found that this type of dance music is often played at parties or social events. sources for our research include youtube and personal research such as questioning people we know. the results of our youtube research can be found in one of our older posts. I think that the reason this type of music is so popular at teen parties is that it can easily be enjoyed. Even when there are lyrics in this type of song, there are not many because they are not particularly listened to at teen parties. People who do not often listen to this type of music may still enjoy it because it is usually a simple beat played throughout the track which everyone can dance to, which is why I believe it is particularly enjoyed at parties or social events.
Overall, I believe that the best way to make our music video is to have repeated lyrics throughout the track, as this would help to emphsise the meaning of the song more. Also, it is a common convention we have noticed in many of the psytrance videos we have watched for our research.
Although we will be sticking to some conventions, such as the method of lyrics use, we will attempt to break usual conventions. For example, our track will have a video, whereas the majority of psytrance songs do not have music videos.
